2009 Spring Internship Programs
We are currently accepting applications from talented candidates who are available for internships with start dates between October 2009 and November 2009 who are looking for opportunities within Food Service, Events Management, Catering, Business Operations, Public Relations, Sales & Marketing.
As a Valarie’s intern you'll work within a structured events management corporation and learn the business behind the business. You’ll also have a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of a company that is committed to community benevolence.
Our interns gain valuable experience in an industry that is well regarded for producing some of the best hospitality employees in the world. This 11 week internship program offers an opportunity to be involved in meaningful work/projects; be exposed to daily operations; attend informational sessions; participate in networking activities with other interns, professionals, and business leaders.
Work Location: East New York—Brooklyn, NY
An internship will provide successful candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Marketing Communications (Advertising, Merchandising, or Media/Sponsorships)
- Sales Strategy and Segmentation

Enrollment Qualifications
To be considered for internship, you must have:
- A sincere interest in learning the catering/food service/events management business
- Energized and enthusiastic work ethic
- Clean, neat, groomed appearance
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment with little supervision
- Excellent project management and organizational skills
- Ability to successfully handle assignments and meet deadlines
- Proven presentation skills
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to travel when needed
- Commitment to comply with terms of internship and work atleast 40 hours each week for 11 consecutive weeks
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint (is a +plus)
- Prior Marketing internship and/or experience (is a +plus)
- Valid NYS Driver’s License (Required for PR, Sales and Apprentice Programs)
